Lantagne Puts One In The Win Column At WMMP

North Woodstock, NH-The heat in the air turned into hot racing on the track as the sun went down in the White Mountains.. Olsen, Hill, Kelley, Griswold and Lantagne all took their lap of honor in their respective divisions as well as a tour through victory lane at White Mountain Motorsports Park.

Ryan Olsen took home the qualifier win in the HK Powersports Kids Trucks while Alex Kelley took down the win in the Beacon Resort strictly stock division. In the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank strictly stock mini division Opie Thayer came out on top while Gerald "Thumper" Griswold bested the field in the Avery's Sweeping super sportsman division. The three hotly contested NAPA late model sportsman qualifier victories went to Michael Jurkowski, Branden Talon and Jeremy Welch.

With the sun setting in the distance, the NAPA late model sportsmen took to the track. The racing was on fire, with a very tight points battle and every finishing position critical. Bernie Lantagne worked his way through traffic early and went to the point by lap 20. It was in the clean air that Lantagne set sail and distanced himself from the pack behind him. Meanwhile that pack had formed itself up two by two all the way outside the top 10, with the points leaders trapped in the back with nowhere to go. With 10 to go Jeremy Welch found his way through the pack and took off in chase of Lantagne. His run was interrupted when Stacy Cahoon worked his way through and took to the high side off turn 2 with Quinny Welch a close fourth they were running out of time. When the checkers went in the air it was Lantagne with the win, Jeremy Welch second and Stacy Cahoon in the third position.

Gerrald "Thumper" Griswold started on the pole in the Avery's Sweeping super sportsmen division and spent the whole twenty laps fighting off Jimmy Hebert who jumped to second on the start under Michael Moore and Brian Gosselin. Hebert then took off with Thumper Griswold in his sights. It took Brian Gosselin a couple of laps to get free of some other traffic and he took off in pursuit of Griswold and Hebert. From lap 5 on the show was all about the three cars at the front. Griswold had two fistsful of racecar as Jimmy Hebert looked high and low to find a way around, while at the same time working to keep Gosselin behind him. The finish saw Griswold with the win, Hebert in second and Gosselin in third

When the green flag fell on the Beacon Resort strictly stock division Alex Kelley wasted no time finding his way to the front. Once he did the race was for second place. By the time Dave Baron Sr. worked his way into second place Kelley was in another zip code and pulling away. Elwin Sydney III and Brandon Bourne were on the march and they were after Baron Sr. The three swapped positions back and forth until the checkers went in the air. When all was done did it was Alex Kelley, Dave Baron Sr. and Brandon Bourne coming through third.

With a tight points battle of their own, the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank strictly mini stock division rolled down out of the pits in turn four and took to the track. The green flag fell and Ernie Snider went to the point. Opie Thayer, Shawn Sinclair, Josh Dunn and Nick Pillotte all took a stab at running in second. Pillotte spun in turn 4, Thayer and Sinclair drifted out of the top 5. Dunn maintained his second position until Andy Hill took to the high side and went around him with 3 laps to go. The only thing between Hill and the checkered flag was Ernie Snider. When Hill and Snider came off corner number four on the 20th lap it was Snider by about 5 feet. At the line however, it was Andy Hill by about 3 feet, Snider in second and Josh Dunn in third.

Ryan Olsen took charge in the HK Powersports Kids truck division at the drop of the green flag and never looked back. Behind him Amanda Wheeler, Jordan Fornwalt, Nicholas Willis and Cameron Oullette duked it out for position. Oullette came out on top with Amanda Wheeler right behind him all the way. With 5 laps remaining Oullette broke free from Wheeler and caught Olsen. A couple of bumps off the corner to let Olsen know he was there was all Oullette had left for Olsen however. Olsen went on to the win, Oullette in second and Amanda Wheeler third.
